Rebekah Brooks – the real red top!

A friend of mine has just posted on Facebook “I know I’m being really shallow but I really like Rebekah Brooks’ hair.” The number of responses she got!  Maybe her hair is a bit like marmite… love it or hate it?

In Italy we say “ogni riccio un capriccio.”  (which means “a little whim for every curl”) Add to the fact it is red and an Italian would say this makes her very naughty!

The truth is that Rebekah has lots of hair, an amazing colour, and it must be extremely difficult to keep under control … what an appropriate metaphor for the situation she’s in. I think the pressure is beginning to show, cos it’s starting to look a little eighties.

So, to my friend on Facebook (whose hair is straight), I don’t think this look would be easy to achieve! I’d have to colour it, perm it and you could end up looking like that bunny boiler Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction.

But to Rebekah, I’d recommend a keratin Brazilian blowdry – you can chat to your lawyers while we work. And some KITOKO oil is a must every moment of your day, to keep your hair shiny and healthy. Even if your world feels like it’s falling apart right now, at least your hair will look wow and the public will notice. That’ll give hope to anybody in a difficult situation.

 How we do things differently:

1. In our book, hair and face go hand-in-hand. A great cut looks even better in the hands of somebody who has a skilful understanding of make-up, skin tone, colour and shape of the face. As creative director, stylist and make-up artist, this is Sergio’s approach. Also, ask for a complimentary retouch make-up when you book your next hair appointment and he’ll be very happy to spend that little bit of extra time with you!

2. Our mantra is great hair served with great hospitality. We believe in creating a relaxing, comfortable and friendly environment. Detail is important to us, from the backwash to the flowers to the refreshments offered.

3. We give you time. Sometimes your hair may require a longer treatment or consultation. We never overbook, in order to tailor each appointment to your needs.   

4. We’re not just great with scissors! Your quest for the best tiramisu in town ends here. Ours is made on site with a little secret recipe that comes from southern Italy.

5. Last but not least, we do one-to-one classes and group events where you can really learn about and experiment with make-up, blow dries and hair up. Just ask us for more details.

Just launched – my salon facebook group

Ciao a tutti

I’m starting up a facebook group for my salon called Sergio Giannasso Hair & Make-up Fans. If you use facebook, I’d love you to join. I’ll be using it to announce special one-off marketing events from time to time that you might not see unless you subscribe to this blog or read it very regularly.

It’s early days still. Much more will follow. So jump in!
