Thanks to all 57 of you who completed our feedback survey. Overall, we were thrilled with what you said – with over 80% of you saying you got a better treatment (service, cut, colour, made to feel special) than at any other salon you’d been to. But of course, we wanted to know how we could improve, so that’s what we’ve focussed on here. I hope you feel we’ve listened. And keep those comments coming – without you, we’d be… well, we wouldn’t be here!

How often you visit:
25% of you come every six weeks, with half of you come every 3 months, with quite a few of you feeling the pinch and stretching out your visits compared to 2 years ago.

How satisfied are you with the quality of our services?
We’re thrilled to say that we had great feedback on the staff treatment, the consultation, and how we listened to your needs. 80% of you say we rate better than other salons you’ve visited.

You said: You’d like student discounts
We said: We’ve now introduced special student rates Mon-Wed

You said: You’d like lower prices on colours
We said: We’ve introduced a 10% discount for all of you who LIKE us on Facebook, and we’ll cut your bill by 20% every time you recommend us to someone who books in.

You said: You’d like special offers for being loyal
We said: Sign up to our newsletter for news on exclusive deals, just for our customers. We’ve also negotiated exclusive rates for our customers at the W hotel Spa.

You said: Upstairs can get a bit too cold sometimes.
We said: We’ve got some new heaters!

You said: Downstairs a little dark.
We said: Fair enough.. and we redecorated and installed a couple more spotlights.

You said: Quieter music please!
We said: Understood. Maybe we got carried away at some point! However, even if our DJ skills are basic we do know where the volume dial is, so everybody has been told to be MORE AWARE!

You said: Better reading materials.
We said: Tell us what you’d like to read!

You said: Better communication over the phone.
We said: We have 4 languages in the salon, so that’s a bit of a challenge… but we’ve introduced text reminders for your appointments, and we trialled a new Front of House before Christmas who we thought was fantastic. Let us know what you think.

You said: How about some manicures?
We said: We did try this, but the lady was often twiddling her thumbs… so we’ve got a different solution, through our exclusive offers for you at the spa at the W hotel – at special prices. Just a stone’s throw from the salon

Veronica came into the salon looking to regain the length, volume and confidence she’d lost through her previous trip to the hairdressers. She and Marcio Soares went for this full transformation – using extensions and a new colour to replace the bleached blonde – just in time for a super glamorous Christmas!

A GOOD CAUSE FOR 2012: In the spirit of Christmas and a happier New Year, if you have any interview-ready clothes for men, dry cleaned or laundered, that you would like to offload to a good cause then read on…

One of our many amazing clients – Maria Lenn – is very involved with the charity Suited & Booted.  (http://tabcentre.com/projects/suited-booted/).

The organisation helps encourage vulnerable / disadvantaged men in the capital back into work through mentoring and presentation. And they need our help so if you have any dry cleaned / laundered clothes for men that you would like to contribute you could always bring them with you to your next appointment and we will ensure they are delivered on to Maria at the charity HQ (TAB centre, Austin Street, E2 7NB). A very big word of thanks goes out to all of you who took part in the recent customer feedback survey for Sergio Giannasso Hair & Make-up. We are regularly reviewed via websites we hardly know online. What we wanted was more direct, straightalking feedback with your views on particular areas of the business. And what you wrote was uplifting. The fact that more than 80% of you rated our service better than that of other salons was fantastic. Grazie!!!

Many of you put a lot of thought into this exercise, as well as fresh ideas. We will take them all on board. And as some of you suggested, a salon maitre d’ would make a positive addition to the team. Great minds think alike! As we get busier, we recognise more and more the benefits and are on the case! We’ll be telling you as we turn these ideas into practise.

In the meantime, we will continue pouring love into our work as much as possible. To those of you who did not have the chance to take part, constructive feedback and ideas are always welcome. It remains our goal to be the best. Sergio & the team

Gorgeous Georgian – latest fashion shoot

Just a peek behind the scenes at a fashion editorial shoot last month. A contemporary take on Georgian regency - intricate braids, texture, and hair that hints at Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus - with a whip of leather, lace and boys in corsets! A younger, more risque version of Elizabeth Bennett and Lord Darcy could have walked through those double doors at any moment.

The Royal Weft – The Duchess of Cambridge

There was some speculation this week over whether the Duchess of Cambridge used extensions to achieve this Wow Now amazing look of hers – gorgeous hair that is just full of volume.

Did she or didn’t she? (investigative journalism  get ready!) It did however highlight how extensions can be the most fantastic accessory for the most formal occasions. It doesn’t have to always be about the likes of Cheryl Cole, Katie Price or Paris Hilton tottering out of Bungalow 8  at 4 in the morning. The Duchess is already a style icon, following in the footsteps of the late Princess of Wales.

I would not hesitate to suggest extensions for more elegant volume, body or shape of cut. Or in order to vary shades of colour – highlight effects for example – without chemical treatments.

They are a great way to  look impeccable all the time without stressing the tresses. You can change your colour, your look (and your mind!!!) effortlessly. Everything about extensions

Meet Marcio Soares, our inhouse expert on hair extensions. He’s been working for more than a decade with many different product types in an industry that is constantly evolving new techniques. But it’s the client base ultimately that counts and Marcio’s quality of work explains why he is regularly away doing hair across several continents; Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

He says, “I’m always looking for the safest products that have least impact on your natural hair. If done very well, people do not necessarily need to know extensions have been added. What I also do is integrate at least three, usually four, different shades into the natural base colour. This creates the most realistic effect.”

Clients of his either are looking for that glamorous touch (ie Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham) or for a more serious, tailored, natural look with volume and / or extra length. ie a simple, accessible way to make you feel more confident and look your best.

A breath of fresh hair!

Ciao a tutti! Very proud to meet Brigitte Pluys who walked in to the salon last week and asked me “Are you on top form?” She wanted to look less “mumsy” and a bit more modern.

As it turned out, she is an extremely successful businesswomen with a big chain of fashion jewellery stores across Belgium called Twice as Nice. (Belgium’s Best Chain Store award winner two years running). So less “mumsy” started to make sense! And I have to say… what a refreshing inspiration to hear of a business that’s breaking the mould after all the gloom we hear of in the press.

I’m REALLY pleased Brigitte that you found us, liked the look of us, booked and came in. It was a pleasure. Very rewarding too that as you left you said the cut was exactly what you were looking for. See you again soon! Sergio

Ghd new product range on sale now

We’ve introduced ghd’s fantastic new range of styling products to the salon (priced from £3.95). And after spending a day with ghd’s own team of experts plus some of our fabulous models, we’re convinced how good they really are for setting and styling hair.

Hedvig, blogged about the results afterwards so we know we’re not alone. We gave her a healthy, tousled look that lasted, ready to wear, for several days without any feel or weight of product.

The products make styling a lot easier. They give excellent “heat protection” so you avoid any damage from straighteners and they don’t make your hair feel “loaded”.
